Scope: Mobile Prototyping

Pawsitive

Mobile prototyping
Pawsitive is a concept application designed to curve the initial feelings of stress before they turn into anxiety. By swiping through pictures, users can choose to save certain animals that they find cute and in cases where they are stressed, they will have the option to use our ambient sounds to further reduce their stress. Through collaboration with shelters and adoption centres, we will also put pets in need of adoption on our app as well as a direct way to message and interact with the companies.

Problem

Many people who are in their teens to 30s face many angles of stress in their daily life. During school or introductory stages of finding work, one can find it harder to focus and stress can turn into anxiety. With increasing usage of phones and social media, the problem can go both ways. Our application is made to deter these anxious feelings before they occur.

Process

With our idea first completed, a survey was put out to see how useful an application like this would be. With over 200 responses, we carefully analyzed what the everyday feelings of these people are as well as how they usually curve these feelings. Many people found listening to music and looking at cute animals relaxing, so we mainly incorporated those into our application. The data we found was used to create wireframes that would best suit our target audience to help them feel more relaxed. Initial pencil drawn wireframes were converted to digital wireframes. With seven participants ranging in sex and age, we did a useability testing with our wireframes. Participants gave feedback which was converted into changes for our final prototype. This prototype had further changes after teacher feedback.
